The Sutra
"Illusions deceive, colors circumscribe, even divisibles are indivisible."
Paul Reps translation, Zen Flesh, Zen Bones (1957)
Understanding
A technique of philosophical insight rather than physical practice. Contemplate: illusions deceive you daily - you take the passing for the permanent. Colors circumscribe - you see boundaries where none exist. Even things that appear divisible are actually indivisible. This contemplation loosens the grip of perception and reveals that the divisions in reality are all mind-made.
Original Sanskrit

Vijnanabhairava Verse 79 (Technique 56 of 112)
How to Practice
Sit quietly and contemplate the nature of perception.
Consider: what you see as separate objects are actually one interconnected reality.
Colors create boundaries, but boundaries are not real - they are perceptual tricks.
The table and the floor seem separate. But at the atomic level, where does one end and the other begin?
Even time seems divisible into past, present, future. But can you actually find the dividing line?
As these contemplations deepen, the illusion of separation dissolves. Only indivisible wholeness remains.
