The Sutra
"Shakti, see all space as if already absorbed in your own head in the brilliance."
Paul Reps translation, Zen Flesh, Zen Bones (1957)
Understanding
Imagine all of infinite space being absorbed into your own head - not as a concept, but as brilliance, as light. Your skull contains the entire universe shining with radiance. This reversal of perception - normally the head is in space, but here space is in the head - dissolves ordinary mind. When all of space is brilliance inside your head, there is no outside left. Only light remains.

How to Practice
Close your eyes and feel the space around you in all directions.
Now imagine this space being drawn inward, absorbed into your head through the crown.
All of space - the room, the city, the earth, the cosmos - streams into your head as pure light.
Your head becomes infinitely vast inside, containing all of space as brilliance.
There is no longer any space outside. Everything is light within your being.
Rest in this inner brilliance where all of space shines as one concentrated radiance.
