A Word Ending in AH - Spontaneity
सर्वं शरीरं चिन्मात्रं लोकं वा भैरवात्मकम् । भावयन्मानसं शुद्धं भैरवस्य स्वरूपभाक् ॥
sarvam shariram cinmatram lokam va bhairavaatmakam | bhavayanmanasam shuddham bhairavasya svarupabhak ||
VBT Verse 68
The Sutra
"Silently intone a word ending in AH. Then in the HH, effortlessly, the spontaneity."
Paul Reps translation, Zen Flesh, Zen Bones (1957)
Understanding
Choose any word that ends with the sound AH (like Allah, Shivah, Shaktyah). As you intone it silently, pay attention to the AH at the end. The AH naturally opens into HH - the sound of breath, the sound of letting go. In this HH there is effortless spontaneity. The AH is the last conscious effort; the HH is what flows naturally from it - pure, unplanned existence.
Original Sanskrit

Vijnanabhairava Verse 68 (Technique 45 of 112)
How to Practice
Choose any word or name that ends with the AH sound.
Silently intone this word internally. Let the word flow naturally.
Pay special attention to the AH at the end. Feel how it opens the throat and chest.
After the AH, notice the natural HH that follows - the exhalation, the release.
In this HH, there is no effort. It is completely spontaneous.
Rest in this spontaneity. It is the taste of your natural state - effortless being.
