Detailed Understanding
Mahākāya means "possessing a great body" or "of immense form." This Bhairava appears at cosmic scale, so vast that galaxies orbit within his body, stars form from his breath, black holes are his eyes. Mahākāya represents the teaching that consciousness is not confined to any particular scale. The same awareness that animates your body animates the cosmos. In meditation on Mahākāya, the practitioner experiences expansion of identity from personal to cosmic.
