स पातु वो यस्य जटाकलापे स्थितः शशाङ्कः स्फुटहारगौरः । नीलोत्पलानामिव नालपुञ्जे निद्रायमाणः शरदीव हंसः ॥
Transliteration
sa pātu vo yasya jaṭākalāpe sthitaḥ śaśāṅkaḥ sphuṭahāragauraḥ | nīlotpalānāmiva nālapuñje nidrāyamāṇaḥ śaradīva haṃsaḥ ||
Translation
May that one protect you all, in whose matted locks the moon rests, fair as a bright garland, like a swan dozing among the stalks of blue lotuses in autumn.
Deep Meaning
May he protect you, the Lord whose matted locks hold the moon, white like a pearl necklace, sleeping like a swan in a heap of blue lotus stalks in autumn.

जगत्सिसृक्षाप्रलयक्रियाविधौ प्रयत्नमुन्मेषनिमेषविभ्रमम् । वदन्ति यस्येक्षणलोलपक्ष्मणां पराय तस्मै परमेष्ठिने नमः ॥
Transliteration
jagatsisṛkṣāpralayakriyāvidhau prayatnamunmeṣanimeṣavibhramam | vadanti yasyekṣaṇalolapakṣmaṇāṃ parāya tasmai parameṣṭhine namaḥ ||
Translation
The opening, closing, and flickering of whose restless eyelids are said to be the very effort in the acts of creation and dissolution of the world - salutation to that supreme Parameshthi who transcends all.
Deep Meaning
I bow to the supreme lord of the universe, whose effort in creation, preservation and dissolution is spoken of as the blink and open of his eyes, with the playful movement of his lashes.

vyomnīva nīradabharaḥ sarasīva vīcivyūhaḥ sahasramahasīva sudhāṃśudhāma | yasminidaṃ jagadudeti ca līyate ca taccchāmbhavaṃ bhavatu vaibhavamṛddhaye vaḥ ||
Translation
Just as masses of clouds arise and dissolve in the sky, waves in a lake, and the moon's rays in the boundlessly radiant solar orb - may that glory of Shambhu, in whom this world arises and dissolves, be for your prosperity.
Deep Meaning
May that Shambhava, the Lord in whom this world arises and dissolves, like a mass of clouds in the sky, like waves in a lake, like the rays of the moon in the sun's disc, bring you great prosperity.

yaḥ kandukair iva purandarapadmasadmapadmāpatiprabhṛtibhiḥ prabhuraprameyaḥ | khelatyalaṅghyamahimā sa himādrikanyākāntaḥ kṛtāntadalano galayatvaghaṃ vaḥ ||
Translation
May that immeasurable Lord of inviolable glory, who sports with Indra, Brahma, Vishnu and others as if with playing-balls, the husband of the Himavat's daughter, the crusher of Kritanta - may he melt away your sins.
Deep Meaning
May the Lord Pashupati, whose greatness is unbounded, who plays as if with a ball among Indra, Brahma and Vishnu, the consort of the daughter of the snow mountain, the destroyer of Yama, remove the sins of you all.

दिश्यात् स शीतकिरणाभरणः शिवं वो हंसीव यस्योत्तमाङ्गभुवि विस्फुरदूर्मिपक्षा । निर्मलशशाङ्ककलामृणालकन्दार्थिनी सुरसरिन्नभतः पपात ॥
Transliteration
diśyāt sa śītakiraṇābharaṇaḥ śivaṃ vo haṃsīva yasyottamāṅgabhuvi visphuradūrmipakṣā | nirmalaśaśāṅkakalāmṛṇālakandārthinī surasarinnabhataḥ papāta ||
Translation
May that Lord who wears the cool-rayed moon as his ornament grant auspiciousness to you all - upon whose head the Ganga descended from the sky like a swan swaying its wings, longing to reach the moon's crescent as though it were a pure lotus-stalk.
Deep Meaning
May the Lord Pashupati, who wears the cool-rayed moon as an ornament, bring welfare to you, like a swan that falls from the sky into the lake, desiring the tender stalk of the pure moon's rays. (The commentary explains that the Ganga, wearing its waves on Shiva's head, descends from the sky as the swan.)
