Transliteration
śrīdevyuvāca - bhagavan devadevaśa ! rahasyaṃ baṭukāya me | brūhi yena vaśīkuryāt sādhako bhairavaṃ śivam || 1||
Translation
Sri Devi said: O Lord, God of gods! Tell me the secret of Batuka, by which a practitioner may bring Bhairava Shiva under their influence.

Transliteration
śrībaṭuka uvāca - śṛṇu devi ! paraṃ gopyaṃ kathayāmi suśobhane | rahasyaṃ siddhidaṃ sākṣādbaṭukasya mahātmanaḥ || 2||
Translation
Sri Batuka said: Listen, O Devi! I shall tell you the supreme secret, O beautiful one, the rahasyam (secret teaching) that directly grants siddhi of the great-souled Batuka.

Transliteration
sarve baṭukadevasya sādhane ye nirupitāḥ | upāyā niṣphalā eva vidhānaṃ vīrasādhanam || 3|| yo vīrasādhanaṃ hitvā upāyaṃ cānyamāśrayet | na sa siddhimavāpnoti naro varṣaśatairapi || 4||
Translation
All methods prescribed for the worship of Batuka Deva are fruitless, the true procedure is Vira-Sadhana (heroic practice). One who abandons Vira-Sadhana and resorts to any other method, that person will not attain siddhi even in a hundred years.

May Bhuchara protect on the right, may Sadashiva protect on the left. May Vishalaksha protect my hair, may Marutpriya protect my crown. May Bhrigvisha protect my head, may Mahamana protect my eyes. May Viresha protect my cheeks, may Gandari-Mardana protect my temples.

May Virupaksha protect the upper lip, Yogini-Priya the lower lip. May Vidhvamsi protect the teeth and chest, may Kala-Dhrik protect the chin. May the deity Nilakantha, the world-guru, protect my throat. May Girindresha protect the right shoulder, and Sundara the left.
