Asthira means "not stable, constantly moving, restless" (a = not. sthira = stable, fixed). This form represents the fundamental truth of anitya (impermanence), that everything in existence is constantly changing, nothing remains the same even for a moment. Asthira Bhairava teaches that trying to find stability in the world of phenomena is futile. True stability lies only in recognizing the unchanging awareness that witnesses all change. He is the destabilizing force that shakes your attachment to what cannot last.
